Timber Harvesting Bond - May be required for a logging permit to guarantee the availability of funds for cleaning up any harvesting residue (such as tree tops, debris, logs, and pulpwood) in the public right-of-way or for fixing any damages to county roads from equipment. Improvements Bond - Held in an amount that is 1.5 times the estimated cost of road, right-of-way, and drainage facility improvements, so that if the contractor fails to complete improvements, required work may be made without using public funds. A maintenance bond may also be required for 2 years after work has been completed to guarantee a way to pay for any repairs the contractor fails to tend to.
