Stormwater Management Facility Bond - May be required of property owners that have constructed a stormwater facility. The bond is to remain active for 18 months following the execution of the facility and the limit is determined by the Public Works Department. The property owner/permit holder is responsible for maintaining the facility free of obstructions, silt, and debris, as well as following the regulations pursuant to Article 11 of the Doraville, GA Municode. Failure to comply with such terms may result in the Department filing a bond claim. Funds from the claim will likely go towards the cost of maintaining the stormwater facility properly.
Soil and Erosion Control Bond - May be required by the Community Development Department of property owners, developers, or contractors prior to the issuance of a land disturbance permit. The bond limit must be equal to $3,000 per acre within the proposed land-disturbing activity. The permit holder is expected to comply with city standards pursuant to Chapter 16 of the Doraville, GA Municode. Should the permit holder fail to do so, as well as ignore notice to resolve any violation, the Department can file a claim against the bond on file. The claim payout will go towards hiring a new contractor to stabilize the soil erosion and bring it into compliance.
