The Public Works Department of Lincoln County, Georgia, may require a license or permit surety bond to conduct building construction, land development, or timber harvesting projects within the area.
A standard $15,000 limit is required for the Building Contractor Bond and just $5,000 for the Timber Harvesting Bond. As for the Land Development Bond, the Public Works Department determines the limit, and the bond amount must be equal to $3,000 for each acre within the land-disturbing activity.
At Jet, the cost of a License or Permit Bond is a small percentage of the bond limit, and typically, is based on the credit score of the applicant. However, no soft credit check is required for bond amounts under $25k and prices are guaranteed. For example, if you are in need of a bond with a limit of $15,000 or less, a one-year bond term may be instantly purchased for just $100. Building Contractor Bond - Required of general, electrical, plumbing, low-voltage, and mechanical contractors that are seeking a permit to erect, construct, or repair a local building within Lincoln County. Permit regulations pursuant to Chapter 18 of the Lincoln County, GA Municode must be followed. Committing a violation such as a breach of contractor or damage to public/private property may result in the Public Works Department filing a claim on the surety bond to cover any financial losses incurred.
Land Development Bond - Property owners and developers may require a surety bond prior to receiving an approved land-disturbance permit from the Public Works Department. Permit obligations must be fulfilled and rules via Chapter 30 of the Lincoln County, GA Municode are to be followed. A claim may be filed on the surety bond by the Department should a violation be committed by the permit holder. Funds from the bond are to be used to cover the cost of hiring a new contractor to stabilize the site of the land-disturbing activity and to bring it into compliance.
Details on the cancellation and renewal process for the above permit bonds can be found via the appropriate buttons at the bottom of the page.
Timber Harvesting Bond - Before an individual or firm may harvest timber, a license and a surety bond may be required by the Public Works Department. The terms and conditions of such license may be found in Article IV of the Lincoln County, GA Municode. If the licensee commits a violation or causes damages, the Department may file a claim on the bond to cover the cost of cleaning up harvesting residue and re-ditching or repairing existing ditch structures within the impacted right-of-way areas.
The Timber Harvesting Bond is only good for a one-year bond term and must be renewed annually, however, this process only applies if you plan on renewing your license as well. In addition, the bond may be cancelled at any time (the Jet team just needs to send a 30-day cancellation notice to the Department). Either of these options may be requested by calling Jet at 855-296-2663 or emailing us at bonddept@jetsurety.com.
