When installing and repairing septic tanks or grease traps, placing and servicing chemical toilets, or pumping and removing sewage upon county septic systems, the contractor is responsible for upholding local Monroe County Environmental Health Department standards, as well as following all applicable requirements pursuant to the Georgia Health Rules and Regulations.
The Septic Systems Management Bond will act as a means of restitution to the County should the contractor fail to comply with the above obligations, perform defective work, cause damages, or walk off the job with no reasonable cause. If the contractor is unable to resolve the matter or is unwilling to do so, the Department may proceed with filing an official bond claim.
